Section 1. The Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized to pay, out of any items of expense appropriated for the Bureau of Non-Christian Tribes by Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and seventy-five, the sum of fifty thousand pesos to Frank W. Carpenter, Governor of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu, in recognition of the extraordinary services rendered by him to the Government of the Philippine Islands. ℒαwρhi৷ This special remuneration shall be paid without prejudice to any priveleges or rights granted by existing law.
