AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE ENTRY INTO THE PHILIPPINES OF PORTLAND CEMENT NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS REQUIRED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.

Section 1. After this Act shall have taken effect, it shall be unlawful and strictly prohibited to import, bring, or introduce into the Philippine Islands any class of Portland cement not in accordance with the specifications required by the Government of the Philippine Islands for its works, as established in Executive Order No. 19, of May 24, 1918, or as they may hereafter be established by any subsequent Executive Order.

This prohibition shall not apply to any class of Portland cement manufactured in the United States.

Section 2

Section 2. The Collector of Customs, upon denunciation, complaint, or protest by any person, corporation or body engaged in the Philippine Islands in the manufacture or sale of cement, that certain Portland cement that has been imported or is to be imported is not in accordance with the requirements of said Executive Order, shall secure reports from the Bureau of Science or Bureau of Public Works as to whether or not the cement objected to is in accordance with the specifications established in the aforesaid Executive Order; and in case it is not, he shall prevent the attempted importation or compel the importer of the disqualified cement to export the same. 1aшphi1
