[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 87, June 12, 1964 ]

DIRECTING THE HOISTING OF THE NATIONAL FLAG AT THE LEGISLATIVE BUILDING TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A DAY

WHEREAS, the National Flag symbolizes national solidarity, patriotism, and love of country; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative to inculcate in the minds of our people a continuing consciousness of the patriotic deeds of our heroes and love for the Motherland through the symbolic embodiment thereof for a cohesive, strong, and healthy nation; 1—шphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby direct the display of the National Flag at the Legislative Building twenty-four hours a day. The flagpole shall be lighted at night.

Done in the City of Manila, this 12th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-four.
