[ MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 37, August 13, 2025 ]
AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT (GAD) CORNERS IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT (OP) PROPER
Pursuant to Republic Act No.9710, otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Women, and its Implementing Rulwes and Regulations, and (MC) Memorandum Circular No. 2025-05, issued by the Philippine Commission on Women on 23 June 2025, which enjoins all government offices to establish Gender and Development (GAD) corners to promote gender equality and women's empowerment, the office of the President - Gender and Development Focal Point System (OP-GFPS), is hereby directed to institutionalize the creation, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the physical and digital GAD corners in the OP Proper. The OP-GFPS and/or its designated Technical Working Group, shall manage the physical and digital GAD corners to ensure they serve as accessible platforms for stakeholders to engage with GAD-related resources, services, and information. The GAD Corners shall be updated as frequently as possible to ensure that the most current and relevant information is posted. All relevant news, announcements, and updates shall be posted immediately or in real-time to further enhance awareness and engagement with GAD initiatives. The Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO) is hearby directed to provide the necessarry technical support for the development and maintenance of the digital GAD Corner, in compliance with the requirements set under MC No. 2025-05. The OP-GFPS, in coordinateion with ICTO, shall develop a comprehensive tracking matrix to systematically record and outline all updates made in GAD corners. This matrix will ensure that all displayed information rem,ains current, relevant, and accurate, while also promoting accountability and transparency. The corresponding expenses related to the establishment and maintenance of the physicaland digital GAD corners of the OP Proper, including technical support and necessary resources required for the same, shall be charged against the funds of this Office, in accordance with existing budgeting, accounting, and auditing rules and regulations. The corresponding implementation procedure and cost per activity shall be seperately prepared, approved, and/or issued by the undersigned, or by the DESFA, through a Project/Activity Design and/or a Special Order.
