Presidential Decree No. 1581

WHEREAS, the 1976 Salary Survey of the Budget Commission indicated as substantial upward trend in compensation, and in the implementation of this salary survey, the salaries of middle management officials and technical and professional personnel have been adjusted to the extent that their salaries are now higher than Career Executive Service Officers of Rank IV and V who are their superiors in the hierarchy;

Section 1. The compensation Schedule for the Career Executive Service, as provided in Section 1 of Presidential Decree No. 847, is hereby revised as follows:

"b. POSITIONS COVERED

"The various ranks in the Career Executive Service cover the following positions, and such other positions as may be determined to be of equivalent category by the Career Executive Service Board:

Rank I Deputy Minister

Rank II Assistant Secretary Bureau Director Regional Director (Department-wide Regionalization)

Rank III Assistant Bureau Director Assistant Regional Director (Department-wide Regionalization)

Rank IV Regional Director (Bureau-wide Regionalization) Ministry Service Chief

Rank V Assistant Regional Director (Bureau-wide Regionalization)

Section 2

The amount of P13

Section 2. The amount of P13.5 M or so much as may be necessary to implement the revised rates of compensation is hereby appropriated out of funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated. In case of deficiency, savings in the appropriations of the respective offices and agencies may be utilized for this purpose.

Section 3

Section 3. The Minister of the Budget and the Career Executive Service Board shall promulgate the rules and regulations for the implementation of this Decree.

Section 4

Section 4. Any and all laws, decrees, executive orders, rules and regulations or parts thereof which are inconsistent with this Decree are hereby repealed and/or modified accordingly.

This Decree shall take effect on July 1, 1978
