Presidential Decree No. 1627 — WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 1871, the Sangguniang Pampook were scheduled to convene starting on July 7, 1979, but certain preparatory activities and other circumstances necessitate the postponement of the date when the Sangguniang Pampook will convene, which requires the amendment of Batas Pambansa Blg. 20 accordingly.

Section 8 of Batas Pambansa Blg

Section 1. Section 8 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 20 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 8. Convening of the Sangguniang Pampook. The Sangguniang Pampook shall initially convene upon call the President (Prime Minister) on such a date as he may deem proper and expedient."
