AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8597, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING THE TRENTO TELEPHONE SYSTEM, INCORPORATED A FRANCHISE TO CONSTRUCT, ESTABLISH, INSTALL, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE LOCAL EXCHANGE NETWORK IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TRENTO, PROVINCE OF AGUSAN DEL SUR"

SECTION 1

Section1 of Republic Act No

SECTION 1. Section1 of Republic Act No. 8597 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 1. Nature and Scope Franchise. — Subject to the provisions of the Constitutional and applicable laws, rules and regulations, there is hereby granted to the Trento Telephone System, Incorporated, hereunder referred to as the grantee, its successor or assigns a franchise to construct, established, install, maintain and operate for commercial purposes and in the public interest, local exchange network, including public calling stations or pay telephone stations or wireless local loop and for such purpose provide basic telephone service or other means related to the foregoing now known to science or which in the future may be developed in the municipalities of Trento, Bunawan, Sta Josefa, Rosario, Varuela and Loreto, all in the Province of Agusan del Sur, for public domestic telecommunications."

The title of Republic Act No

SECTION 2. The title of Republic Act No. 8597 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"An Act Granting the Trento Telephone System, Incorporated a Franchise to Construct, Establish, Install, Maintain and Operate Local Exchange Network in the Municipalities of Trento, Bunawan, Sta. Josefa, Rosario, Veruela and Loreto, All in the Province of Agusan del Sur".

SECTION 3

Effectivity Clause

SECTION 3. Effectivity Clause. — This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days from the date of its publication, upon the initiative of the Grantee, in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines.
